My Story.....

Hi! I’m Kyoko, a Japanese artist based in Columbus, Ohio.

My passion for drawing and painting first blossomed in high school, shortly after I moved to the United States from Japan. It was a difficult time of transition, and art became something that brought me comfort and joy. What started as a way to navigate those challenging moments quickly grew into something much bigger.

That passion eventually led me to attend the Columbus College of Art & Design. While studying there, I began thinking about career possibilities after graduation and decided to pursue fashion, another creative field that fascinated me. It turned out to be the right path at the time—I spent 11 years working in the retail fashion industry as a designer at a corporate company.

After more than a decade, I felt ready for a new challenge and decided to leave my job to start my own clothing brand. Running my small business was an exciting chapter, but after several years I realized something still felt missing. What I had been longing for was creating art again.

In 2023, I launched this website and fully returned to drawing and painting. Since then, I’ve been creating freely and traveling to different events to share my work.

My inspiration comes from the many experiences in my life—the people I’ve met, the places I’ve been, and the small, beautiful everyday moments that often go unnoticed. I truly believe that every chapter of my journey has shaped the art I create today.

Through my work, I hope to share joyful thoughts and positive energy with others. If my art can bring even a small smile to someone’s face, then I feel I’ve accomplished something meaningful.
